Dear visitor,

welcome to the 2. issue of my genealogical webmag qoqa.de. My primary intention all six months to publish a new issue of qoqa.de I couldn't realize. The German issue of the Webmag Nr. 2 I had finished already in October 2007. Yet I don't was up for translating in English. It seemed to be rather difficult to me. Well, I work completely alone and I carry on 4 websites by the way of my profession and passion as math teacher. And my math site is the most successful site of mine with now 5 000 000 visitors. Therefore I worked mainly for my math site.

 

What does the webmag Nr. 2 bring about?

Jürgen Wagner writes once again about the ancestry of Catharina von Bora. Here he makes aware some corrections and complements.

In the part 2 about the family life of the Lutherfamily you can read, what was happened after the death of the Reformator.

The list with the descendancy of Anna von Kunheim, a daughter of Margarethe Luther (married 'von Kunheim', daughter of the Reformator), may be quite unique and till today complete unknown. Herewith is opened an all new field for the research of the Luther descendancy.

And finally and after all you find more exercises in part 2 about: The reading in old parish registers.

The Family Life of the Lutherfamily
part 2

After the death of D. Martin Luther a big grief and many solicitudes moved into the Black Monastry. Even if the tangibles, bequeathed by the Reformator, were rather considerable, so it was still unprofitable. The manor Zülsdorf and the gardens provided only the big needs of the own household, at which the income by the boarders was low. Cash wasn't bequeathed by Luther, so that Melanchthon has assisted for a start of the widow with her four children. Indeed the bequest was still heightened with 2000 Gulden, which were promised to Luther by the Count Mansfeld for his efforts, but which were payable later. The elector has doubled the 1000 Gulden, which were destinated for the children, and at the request of Melachthon he has disbursed for a start the interest in the high of 100 Gulden. Bugenhagen, the reformator of the north, asked to King Christian III. of Denmark to maintain the hitherto existing 50 Gulden benefit.

The Reading in old Parish Registers
part 2

Who as interested layperson wants to read in old parish registers and documents, must take the trouble to learn the old scripts and to acquire knowledge about the writing usages in the different centuries. For this there are many good books and I don't want here to add another. But I will try to afford an interactive learning of the old scripts for you. Here is part 2.
